Grand Vacation, Small Family l Personal l Nevada & Arizona
For my mom's birthday this year, she has requested that we take her to see the Grand Canyon since she has never been before. Of course! My mom's wish is our command :). We flew to Las Vegas, rented a car, and drove 4 hours to Arizona. Our first stop was the Hoover Dam. The Hoover Dam was constructed during the Great Depression, and it so amazing to see what human beings are capable of building. It is definitely a sight to see if you are ever in Nevada or Arizona since it is located on the border of the two states. After a quick stop at the Hoover Dam we continued our journey towards the Grand Canyon which is located in Arizona. Visiting the Grand Canyon National Park is a surreal experience. When you arrive to the vista point, the whole canyon seems like a gigantic painting. Even my mom felt like she was about to fall off the edge! I assured her that she was completely safe and that the Grand Canyon is REAL :). The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide. It is huge! While staring out at the Grand Canyon, it’s nice to just to enjoy the view and cherish each moment. I think that everyone should have the Grand Canyon on their bucket list. It is definitely one of the wonders of the world. Not to mention, the Grand Canyon has some of the nicest squirrels out there! ~_^
The last place we've visited was the Valley of Fire State Park which was about an hour away from Las Vegas. One of my co-workers actually recommended this place which I had no idea even existed! And Wow! I am glad that we made time to visit this natural wonder. My family & I had a great time on this trip and it's one of those trips we will never forget. :)
